Oscar Fasion and How I was Once Ahead of my Time.

What a splendid evening it was! The Oscars 2014 surpassed all my expectations. I've always been infatuated with Best/Worst dressed lists since the late 90's when I saw a People cover featuring Carmen Electra as worst-dressed. My 9-year old self disagreed. I've come so far.

Let's start with the Best...

Lupita Nyong'o, this was no surprise she has become a style icon in just one award season. She was the Belle of the Ball!

Cate Blanchett, well-known style icon. The dress, the hair, the jewelry, I loved all of it. I love nude/neutral dresses but sometimes they wash you out and this one did not do that. Also not just anyone could pull off such a dress, we could easily be saying the dress wore Cate Blanchett but she rocked it!

Anne Hathaway. It seemed as though most people did not like this dress. I loved it. I like that she kept her hair and jewelry simple and let the dress be the real statement. Plus, on TV it really sparkled!

Giuliana Rancic. Again with the nude/neutrals, I'm slightly obsessed but I thought she looked beautiful.

Naomi Watts. I love this silhouette and I thought her hair was really pretty, and very effortlessly polished.

And now for The Worst

Margot Robbie,  I think she is absolutely gorgeous, but this new dark hair I hate! It is so harsh. Please go back to blonde, hopefully this is just for a role. She reminded me of Natasha from Rocky and Bullwinkle!

Penelope Cruz, in the words of M'Lynn Eatenton, "looks like it's been hosed down with Pepto-Bismol". And what's up with the arm wrap??

Emma Roberts. The top looks like one of the shirts my mom wears under her shoulder-padded blazers. The bottom half just does fit her small frame right. I'm no tailor but c'mon....

I'll leave you with the reason why I probably liked Anne Hathaway's dress but no one else did......

I wore the Sears version in 2005.

you're welcome.
